Former Commissioner, Adejuyigbe mourns ‘Expensive’, Says ‘Akure has lost a Bright star’

Former commissioner for Education, Arc. Jide Adejuyigbe has joined other leaders across Ondo state to mourn the departure of Honourable Omolafe Adedayo.

Nigerian cable news online reported how Omolafe Adedayo, Popularly known as Expensive had died on Monday, after a brief illness.

Adejuyigbe, in a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists on Tuesday said he learnt about Expensive’s death with a rude schock.

“I heard with rude shock very early on Monday morning the 16th August 2021,
the shocking and very sad news of the death of HON. OMOLAFE ADEDAYO A.K.A EXPENSIVE, a man well loved by his constituency – Akure South and Akure North local Governments of Ondo State.”

“While we were usually on opposing political camps, however, I recognize and
acknowledge his political sagacity, his native intelligence and his exceptional ability to draw men and women of all strata to himself. He was a grassroot politician.”

“As a former chairman of Akure South Local Government, he was in his time, able to promote the development of the youths.”

“I also recognize his humility as a politician, who despite the fact that we were contesting together as aspirants in the same party primaries for the House of Representative candidate, the platform on which he eventually won the ticket, he reached out to me for us to work together. He was making steady progress in his political career.’

“Expensive will be sorely missed. May God Almighty console the good people of Akure and indeed the good people of Ondo State. At this moment of grief, I pray that the good Lord will be there for his wife, children and the entire family.” he added.
