Ehindero Secures Accredited Centre As Akoko North Beneficiaries Set For Federal Govt TVET Training Program

Following the successful facilitation of the federal government’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) by Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, member representing Akoko north constituency in the House of Representatives. The programme is set to commence in the Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency.

As part of his efforts to expand access to quality technical and vocational education and equip young people and other interested constituents with practical, employable skills, Hon. Ehindero facilitated the inclusion of the constituency in the Federal Government’s TVET initiative.

A major milestone in this effort is the accreditation of Federal Science and Technical College, Ikare-Akoko, as a recognised TVET training centre for the programme.

The initiative is designed to provide beneficiaries with practical skills across various areas of technical and vocational training, giving participants the opportunity to acquire skills that can enhance their employability, entrepreneurship capacity and ability to contribute meaningfully to the local economy.

Following the opening of registration, 450 constituents successfully registered and are set to benefit from the programme. All beneficiaries will receive their training at the accredited centre, Federal Science and Technical College, Ikare-Akoko, where they will be grouped into nine (9) different trade categories of 50 participants each. The available areas of training include Livestock Farming (Poultry), Feed Production, Furniture Making and Upholstery, Welding and Fabrication, Vulcanizing and Tyre Repair, Electrical Installation, and Bricklaying, Block Laying, Concrete and Interlocking. Beneficiaries are expected to participate in structured practical training at the centre in accordance with the programme’s guidelines.

The training is expected to commence very soon, with beneficiaries required to actively participate in their respective training sessions and fulfil the necessary requirements of the programme.

Beyond the acquisition of practical skills, beneficiaries of the Federal Government TVET programme are expected to enjoy a range of opportunities and benefits attached to the initiative, including recognition of their training and certification upon successful completion, subject to the applicable programme requirements.

Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero reaffirmed his commitment to creating opportunities that directly impact the lives of his constituents, particularly through education, skills acquisition and human-capital development.

‘Our responsibility as representatives goes beyond legislation. We must also work assidiously to create opportunities that empower our people to become self-reliant and economically productive. By facilitating this programme and securing an accredited training centre within our constituency, we are bringing the opportunity for quality technical and vocational training closer to our people’

He further encouraged all successfully registered beneficiaries to take the training seriously, attend their assigned centres as required and make maximum use of the opportunity provided through the programme.

He expressed his sinsere appreciation to his excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his determination to promote technical and vocational education, equip citizens with practical skills, and create pathways towards employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood.
