DEMOCRACY DAY: Tunji-Ojo Has Helped in Stabilizing Our Democracy – Youth Group
A youth group, BTO YOUTH MOVEMENT (BYM), has described Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the member representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency as one of the major players that has contributed to the stability of functional democracy in the country.
The coordinator of the group, Olotu Oluwatobi, while addressing the press after a rally tagged “WALK FOR DEMOCRACY” in Ikare Akoko today noted that the Federal constituency and the mandate areas have witnessed tremendous wind of change since Tunji-Ojo took over.
In his words : “Our experience of representation in Akoko North East/ North West Federal constituency and the Mandate areas in the past is a really sad tale. He (Tunji-Ojo) came and changed the story. Our farm produce are now being reconnected to relevant markets with the several road reconstruction influenced by him in the last 365 days. His great sensitivity and prompt response to our problem is commendable. The corruption that has eaten deep into the flesh of NDDC is being confronted by Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and his committee members. We can’t thank him enough.”
“On behalf of the youths in the constituency, we congratulate him on these feats. We appreciate his pure show of love to us. The 365 days he has spent is like four years to us. We are also encouraging him to do more and not rest on his laurels.”
On his own part, the Secretary of the group, Aminu Abiola, praised the role of Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in eliminating bitter politics in the constituency. He described him as a bridge builder and a rallying point for all political parties in the constituency despite being a dedicated APC member.
“We are still waiting for him to give us the direction to go in the forthcoming Governorship election in the state as we trust his political and leadership judgement. He has empowered so many youths and his appointments has reflected that. Though, we are from different political parties, we are ready to follow his instructions as he has proved to us that he is a bridge builder and rallying point for the youths.”
“We want a conducive environment for him to perform better and so, we are ready to support whoever he presents to us to become the next Governor of the Ondo state.” Aminu Abiola concluded.
The youth group was created to mobilize youths to support the giant strides of Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and his vision for a developed Akoko, according to the Secretary.
