BREAKING: Osinbajo Orders IGP To ‘Overhaul’ SARS

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has been directed by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to look into the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and effect some immediate changes in it.

This came because of the complaints and petitions of Nigerians over the unfair treatment melted upon the citizenry of the country.

The order which was made in a release by Laolu Akande, Osinbajo’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the acting president is such that should be yielded on immediate effect.

“Following persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human rights violations, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, Acting-President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has directed the Inspector General of
Police to, with immediate effect, overhaul the management and activities of SARS,” the statement partly read.
