Ondo D-Gov, Agboola Ajayi Dumps APC, joins PDP

Ondo state deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi has officially announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigerian cable news online has gathered.

Ajayi Posted his resignation letter, addressed to the APC chairman in his ward on Twitter, through his media aide, Allen Sowore.

The deputy Governor had been at loggerheads with his boss and governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu recently leading to speculations that he would defect to the opposition PDP.

His defection is also coming at the wake of an altercation with the commissioner of police in the state, Bolaji Salami who detained him for four hours when he attempted to leave the government house with his property saturday night.

The PDP on its official Facebook page, also announced this afternoon that Agboola has joined the party.

Ajayi is believe to be nursing the ambition to contest against Akeredolu in the October governorship election.

He is expected to do an open declaration on Monday, with some of his loyalists and Political associates, including members of the state house of Assembly.
