Buhari Sets Date, Option To Resign – Presidency Source Reveals

As the agitations of the Concerned Nigerians under the auspices of “Our Mumu Don Do” Movement becomes fiercer and clocks third day today,

the Presidency has spoken about the intended specific date of President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation if he doesn’t recover soon.

Yesterday August 8, a credible source within the Presidency told journalists that the president has revealed a particular date to tender his resignation if he doesn’t recover from his illness.

The President has been in London since May 7 for a medical check-up, leaving Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo to act in his stead.

In reactions to the media uproar over his continued absence, the source said:

“The president is not desperate to cling on to power if his health cannot carry him. I can tell you authoritatively that he has given a timeline that if he doesn’t recover fully on a specific date, he will file in his resignation letter and if you
know President Buhari very well, he meant what he said.

“That is why Nigerians who love the president and his efforts in restoring Nigeria’s lost glory should continue to pray for his quick recovery. It will be to our disservice if he dies as some people are wishing him”.

To note, the specific date given by President Buhari was not made public but it can be revealed that the condition for resignation is hinged on his health status.
