Assembly Poll: Corps Member Dies in Ondo Boat Mishap
A serving corps member, Ibrahim Okanlawon has died during a boat mishap at Agadagba-Obon in Ese-Odo local government area of Ondo state during the last Saturday’s State Assembly election.
The decased, who served as one of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Ad Hoc Staff, with his colleagues, were said to be returning from Ward two in Agadagba-Obon after completing their duty before the urgly incident occurred.
Seven others who survived the boat mishap but sustained various degree of injuries were switfly taken to a community health centre in Ese-Odo.
The state deputy governor, Ajayi on Sunday Morning led the victims to the Gani Fawehinmi Health Diagnosis Centre in Ondo Kingdom for a proper treatment.
The Deputy Governor, who is an indigene of Ese-Odo, also directed the medical personnel at the hospital to give a proper medical care to the victims.
Speaking with reporters, Ajayi, who was accompanied by the local government chairman of Ese-Odo, Hon. Ojo Omolewa said he was saddened by the death of Ibrahim, adding that the nation had lost one of its talent and productive young men, while serving his fatherland.
He extended his condolences to the familiy of Ibrahim and his friends on behalf of the state government praying that God will comfort them and that they won’t witness such calamity again
Ajayi also condoled with the management of NYSC, particularly in Ondo State.
The Deputy Governor, however prayed for the quick recovery of the victims, who survived the boat mishap but sustained injuries.
