Akoko Reps Bye-Election: Ondo PDP Endorses Consensus Candidate

The state working committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state has endorsed Mr. Olalekan Bada as the party’s consensus candidate for the Akoko North federal constituency Bye-election scheduled to hold in February 2024.

The party in a statement released by its state publicity secretary, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei on Sunday, said Olalekan Bad was endorsed at a joint meeting of the state working committee (SWC) and six of the aspirants who earlier indicated interest to participate in the bye-election.

PRESS STATEMENT.

ONDP PDP STATE WORKING COMMITTEE (SWC) APPROVES 20-MAN COMMITTEE REPORT TO SPONSOR OLALEKAN BADA AS CONSENSUS CANDIDATE FOR AKOKO NORTH EAST/AKOKO NORTH WEST BYE-ELECTION.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Working Committee has unanimously approved the 20-man committee set up at Akoko North East/ Akoko North West Federal Constituency to nominate a consensus candidate for the purposes of the forthcoming bye-election.

At a joint meeting of the SWC and six of the aspirants who earlier indicated interest to participate in the bye-election, it was resolved that the 20-man committee report which rated Olalekan Bada as number one should be sponsored by the party for the bye-election that comes up in February, 2023.

Our party believes that, we should profit from our own experience in which the nomination process to replace Hon Omolafe Adedayo (aka Expensive) ended in a rancorous primary election that badly fragmented our party in Akure North/ Akure South.

Party leaders in Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency should rally support for the party candidate and ensure that our party becomes victorious in the bye-election.
