Akinjo Faults Osinbajo’s Visit To Ondo, Says It’s A Waste Of Time

The honorable member representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal constituency of Ondo state in the federal house of representatives, Hon. Kolade Akinjo has described the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the Niger Delta Community of Ondo state as a waste of time and resources, adding that He did not fulfil the Purpose.

Akinjo said this in Abuja during an interview with nigeriancablenews.com with respect to Mr. Osinbajo’s visit.

in his words, Akinjo said;
“the Vice President did not only waste too much time on needless ceremonies in the state capital during his visit, leaving him with no significant time to stay and interact as required during the Niger Delta Community interactive session at Igbokoda.”

He noted that the sufferings and plights of the people were not adequately conveyed and disturbingly, important opinion leaders of the Niger Delta extraction in Ondo State were not allowed to speak at the event.

“How can the Vice President rush in and rush out of Ilaje land as if we were not the reason why he came in the first place, after he spent almost two hours in Akure on needless ceremonies?”
The visibly angry Rep member fumed further that

“how can the meeting fulfil its purpose when none of the opinion leaders in the Niger Delta were allowed to speak about our people’s pains. Imagine leaders like Chief Olusola Oke SAN, Chief Sola Ebiseni, myself and many others seated at an event called ‘Interactive’, and we were not allowed to talk and show the Vice President the true nature of our people’s pain here. How can that meeting fulfil its purpose?
He also mentioned that when it comes to development and critical issues of importance to the people, party coloration should be de-emphasized and our ready and grounded first eleven team should be deployed to convey the concerns of the people.

However, ha called on the Presidency to appraise the event, and possibly revisit to have first hand information about the plights of the people of the land, as he concluded that the last one was a practical waste of time and resources as far as the Ondo Niger Delta Leaders are concerned.

    The visit is of no significant hence the concerned people were not allowed to talk,the concerned people are the baales and Chiefs, the youths, community men and women who live in ilaje or live in the affected areas not the ilajes in Akure,Abuja or dispora and not among those that were NDDC contractors, Whose among those that did abandoned projects. The ilajes live on water or at coastal areas will be able to hit the nail on the head.The failure of Vice president to visit the affected areas where the people are faced with problems, showed that the meeting is of insignificant and that the meeting did not serve its purpose.In a meeting of such, party issue should be put aside.

    I am seriously in line with our able rep as vice president mind has been poisoned by the governor before his arrival at igbokoda so he is not seeing any spectacular thing to be played before him but it is an act of inexperience on its part . Aketi will be worst than mimiko if care is not taking .
