Aggrieved Ondo APC Assembly Members Defection Plan, Ajulo Reacts
Reknowned human right lawyer and leader of the independent campaign organization for President Buhari’s reelection, Mr. Kayode Ajulo has reacted to a report by Nigerian Cable News online on the planned defection of some members of the Ondo state house of assembly from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
Ajulo, in a statement he personally signed and sent to Nigeriancablenewsonline.com, urged the aggrieved lawmakers to stay in the Party for the sake of President Buhari and overlook the present discomfort and discountenance of their welfare by the state government.
He said :
“For the love of Nigeria and the yearning of teaming Nigerians to re-elect Buhari, I urge them to hang on, as we are in touch with the party leadership and respected leaders to ensure their grievances are allayed.”
“The era of saying some people don’t matter has ended in Ondo State. we can’t afford to lose one member now, not to talk of Hon. Members representing their people. this is the time we are wooing members of another party to vote for Buhari. We call on other party leaders to also ensure that they do all needfuls to keep the Honourables in the party”, he added.
Ajulo concluded by saying that the independence and autonomy of the honourable members as stated in the constitution is of primary importance, and must be respected.
