Again, Ikubese bags ‘Distinguished Personality’ Award

Former Presidential aspirant and proprietor of Sckye Hospital, Dr. Thomas-wilson Ikubese has again been decorated with the “Distinguished Personality In Humanitarian Services” award by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ondo State.

Ikubese, a renowned Philanthropist and convener of the #YesWeFit revolutionary movement was presented the Award, during the Public lecture and Awards for distinguished Personalities held by the Journalists at Akure, the Ondo state capital city on Thursday.

While presenting Award, the Journalists appreciated the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Wilson over the years, while adding that his height of humanity service is rare and a gesture worthy of encouragement by all and sundry.

“We are caught by the rare humanitarian gesture daily displayed by Dr. Thomas.” the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel of NUJ, Mr Tope Fayehun said, while thanking Ikubese for making himself available for humanity service.

In his response Dr Thomas appreciated the honour done on him. he said:
“I thank this body of distinguished journalists for this honour and dedicate the award to my patients and the less privileged in society for whom I’ve dedicated the rest of my life.”

The occasion, which had several other dignitaries was witnessed by Ondo State Governor, who was represented by his Deputy Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Prof Olukoya Ogen, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. (Dr.) Joseph Akinlaja, a former two term National Assembly Member, who was the guest speaker, and Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola, the Director-General of Sunshine Stars Football club.

Nigerian Cable news online reported how Ikubese had on Thursday, 5th August received an “Icon of Hope, Embodiment of Truth And Inspiration To Nigerian Youth” award from the Heritage Ambassadors Network(HAN).
