‘You Are Animals, Raving Mad’, Buhari’s Aide Blows Hot Over Campbell’s Controversial Visit

Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Tolu Ogunlesi has thrown caution into the wind on his choices of words to address some Nigerians.

Ogunlesi used some derogatory words on Nigerians for criticizing the appearance of one Naomi Campbell at Eko Atlantic City, at the time the President went there for launching of the project by the Lagos state government led by Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode

In the 2-day visit of President Buhari to Lagos, he visited Eko Atlantic City and met with Campbell, a renowned US-based Fashionista. Both took pictures that went viral across media spaces.

While some Twitter users alleged and lampooned the President of having ulterior motives for inviting the lady to that event, the media aide reacted on behalf of the President.

He said:

“Naomi Campbell met Nelson Mandela more than once. He hugged her, called her his “honorary granddaughter”. She visits Nigeria for a fashion festival and meets President Muhammadu Buhari, and some of you animals are slandering her”, Ogunslesi wrote on Twitter.

“You’re raving mad with nobody to tell you”, he emphatically stated

While Campbell has earlier claimed that she was at the Eko Atlantic City on invitation, the Personal Assistant to Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad denied that, clarifying that the President only coincidentally met her at the event where she requested photos with the Nation’s number 1.

The 42-year old fashion mogul later reverted her tweet and noted that she was in Nigeria for a fashion event she called ‘Arise Fashion Week’.

All of these have continued to raise dust in media.
