Wole Soyinka To Give Key Note Speech As Elizade Varsity Holds Second Convocation

Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin in Ondo state will hold the second Convocation for graduating students on Thursday 26rd and Friday 27th April 2018.

The Management, through the registrar, Mr. Omololu Adegbenro made this known on Friday in Ilara-Mokin while addressing a press conference.

Adegbenro, who also doubles as the chairman of the ceremonies and honours committee said one hundred and five students will be conferred with degrees in different courses of the five faculties in the University.

He also added that 16 of the graduating students, who bagged first class will be given automatic employment in the University and would be encouraged to further their studies to Masters and Doctorate degrees.

He said the Convocation lecture, titled ‘Tending The Tree of Commencement’, will be delivered on Thursday 26th April, by the renowned novelist, Professor Wole Soyinka.

Adegbenro added that the University is presently into partnership with some professional bodies – one of which is the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Federal University of Technology Akure, adding that it would sign a memorandum of understanding with Obafemi Awolowo University soon.

He said this is aimed at getting the best for their students, while also appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to assist the University by allowing it to benefit from TETFUND.

The conferment of First degrees, Awards and (something is missing) will hold on Friday, while a thanks giving service will come up on Sunday.
