UPDATE: We didn’t Attempt to Arrest Sunday Igboho – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied reports that they attempted to arrest Mr. Adeyemi Sunday, Popularly known as Sunday Igboho in Oyo State on Friday.

There was tension and palpable fear on the Lagos-Ibadan express way on Friday afternoon, over an alleged Attempt to Arrest the Popular Yoruba activist and self styled Warlord.

A vedio Released by former minister and close associate of Igboho, cheif Femi Fani-kayode shows many youths and followers of Igboho ranting on the express Road.

However, the Public Relations Officer of DSS at the National Headquarters, Abuja, Dr Peter Afunanya, in a statement described the news as fake.

The statement by Afunanya reads:

“The Department of State Services wishes to refute the news that it attempted to arrest one Sunday Igboho, today, at Ibadan, Oyo State.

“The said news is misinforming and should be taken as fake and therefore be disregarded.”
