UPDATE: IGP Orders Immediate Detention Of Policemen Involved In Edwin Clark’s House Raid, Denies Knowledge
The inspector general of Police, Mr. Idris Ibrahim has order the detention of the police officers involved in the raid of the house of former minister and senator, Cheif Edwin Clark.
Idris, who denied knowledge of the search conducted by members of his special technical crew said he has also order an investigation of the incident.
Cheif clark on the other hand is considering a legal action against the police, over the incident, which he tagged an embarassment on him.
Nigerian Cable News Reported that Nigerian Police on Tuesday stormed the Abuja residence of Former minister for Information and South South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark.
The Police men who searched all the rooms of the ElderStatesman, alleged that they were in the house to search for arms which they accused him of keeping.
They did not find any incriminating evidence or ammunition in the house.
According to the Policemen, they stormed the house on the orders of the Inspector- General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
