UPDATE: How Petrol Tanker Crushed Okada Man To Death In Akure
A middle-aged Okada rider identified as Kayode, was on Friday crushed to death by an NNPC tanker at Iyeoma junction, Alagbaka Akure.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene of the incident, the tanker was stopped by Policemen at Iyeoma junction while coming from Oba-Adesida road, but didn’t stop and ran into the Okada rider who was coming from Elshadai axis.
Luck however ran out of him as the tanker didn’t stop, claiming to have suffered a break failure and dragged him with the motorcycle from the stopping point to the front of Iyeoma building before it stopped.
The tanker driver who introduced himself as Tunde, told journalists that he was coming from Ore with a full-load of petrol but suffered Break-failure at this point.
It was gathered that the deceased just got married last year, has a pregnant wife, and hails from Ijutaogbolu area of Akure.
It was also gathered that his blood brother was with him on the okada but was lucky to jump off the bike, while Kayode was trapped in-between the two front tires of the tanker with parts of his body chattered into pieces.
It was the most terrific incident so far in Akure as sympathisers were describing it as ”shameful death, death of Ogun( God of iron)” etc.
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps rushed to the scene with ambulance trying to remove his remains from the tanker, as angry Okada riders descended on the driver and his partner, but Policemen were able to rescue them before they took laws into their own hands.
