Unpaid Leave Bonus: Ondo Workers Threaten Strike Action
Workers in Ondo state have given the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led government till Friday 12th October to pay their leave bonuses or be ready for industrial action.
The workers who spoke through their leaders gave the ultimatum while briefing government house correspondents on the outcome of their meeting with the governor at Alagbaka in Akure.
Leading the labour leaders, the chairman joint negotiation council, Comrade Opeyemi oloniyo said the arrears of the 2017/2018 leave bonus was long overdue
The labour leader also lamented recent delay in payment of workers’ salaries by the state government.
Comrade Oloniyo who expressed dissatisfaction about government’s excuse that the bail out money was re-debited from the state account by the central bank of Nigeria also decried deductions of their salaries.
