While the attack on the Catholic church in Anambra State today, earlier reported by nigeriancablenews.com have continued to generate reactions,
a renowned social commentator, Adeleye Maxwell has written authoritatively about the possible motivation behind the attack.
Maxwell took to his Facebook account to tell the world that the attack was motivated by a foul pay in a foreign drug deal.
Below are his words unedited;
Anambra Catholic Church Killings: What Truly Happened
The gruesome attacks on St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra state early this morning was basically as a result of a monetary feud among some drug cartels based in South Africa.
It has nothing to do with the menace of Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen.
The attackers came to the Church with a Black SUV, looking for a drug baron called “Bishop”.
However, when they couldn’t find Bishop who cheated them in a deal, they fired sporadically at close range, killing several worshippers in the process.
14 people have been confirmed dead as at the time of filling this report.
21 others are critically injured.
I can also confirm that the attacked St. Philips Catholic Church was built and donated to the community by the WANTED DRUG BARON, MR. BISHOP.
The father of the wanted Drug Baron was killed during the attack.
