Twitter Suspends Trump’s Account Permanently
Global social media Platform, Twitter has announced a permanent suspension of the official Account of United States President, Donald Trump.
The platform had before now continually flagged Trump’s Tweets considered to be volatile and likely to incite violence in the United States.
Pro-Trump supporters had besieged the Capitol Building on Wednesday in order to prevent the Congress from certifying the electoral victory of Joe Biden in the November 2020 presidential election.
The ensuing violence following the invasion led to the death of four persons with several others injured including police personnel.
These developments are believed to be motivated by Trump’s videos and words posted on Twitter.
Trump’s successor, Joe Biden is due to be sworn in on January 20. His victory has been certified by the Congress while the incumbent. Trump has grudgingly conceded to allow a peaceful transition of power.
He has however threatened to boycott the inauguration ceremony because of his believe that the election was rigged, without any substantial evidence.
