Scores killed As Trailer Rams Into Market In Ondo

Scores of people have been killed in a Saturday night Auto-crash, when a trailer loaded with Rice rammed into a market in Akungba Akoko town of Akoko southwest local government in Ondo state.

Eye witnesses account from the scene of the incident report that the trailer was coming from Ikare axis of the town before loosing control and rammed into the popular Ibaka market in Akungba.

Victims of the accident who sustained various forms of injuries are currently being taken to the hospital by rescue operatives.

Akungba is a town in Akoko south west housing the first state University in Ondo state, Adekunle Ajasin University and the home of former governor of the state, Adebayo Adefarati.

“The trailer was descending from okerigbo hill near Adekunle Ajasin University when it lost control as result of faulty brake”. The witness said.
