Be Ready to Relinquish Power; Ondo APDA tells APC….Says The People are Suffering

The ruling All Progessives Congress (APC) has been accused of being a party foisted on Nigerians on the basis of deceit and false promises, only to dash the hope of the people by plunging the country into deep socio-economic quagmire.

Making this assertion in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Thursday, during its interim State executive and stakeholders’ meeting, leaders of one of the hopeful mega parties being considered for registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) advised the APC to be ready to relinquish power and give Nigeria back to the people at the next general elections.
Specifically, the former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru, a member of the Board of Trustee (BoT) of APDA regretted that Nigeria was now at crossroads, wants, deprivation while abject poverty now stared the people in the face within two short years of the APC led Government administration in Nigeria.
“They say the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was bad, but it was never this bad while the party ruled for 16 years. Today, the people are worse for it. There is poverty in the land, the economy is in very bad shape with no clear cut panacea in sight and Nigeria is floundering like a rudderless ship. We want our Nation back from these bunch of political and administrative neophytes,” he stated.
In his speech, a former Chairman of the PDP in the State, Dr Tayo Dairo also lamented that Nigeria and Nigerians were now in very bad shape occasioned by bad and inept leadership.
“They called PDP names, yet, it did not run Nigeria into recession. The APC is a bunch of confused people who rode to power under the guise of deceit of an Eldorado which is fast becoming a mirage as the people now know better. It is now time for the people to ask for their nation back from these inept, super clueless and deceitful leaders who have now plunge the nation into deep economic woes, financial straits and deprivation. APDA would provide the necessary fillip and bring back the good old times for the nation,” he stated.
Earlier, the Convener of the Party in the State, Mr Akin Akinbobola had intimated the leaders with the rationale behind the formation of APDA at the national level saying that the party has what it takes to form the next government both at the national and at the states level.
His words: “I can assure you that with APDA Nigerians are in safe hands; it is made up of tested hands who have excelled in the body polity of the nation and by the time it is presented with its instruments of registration as a full fledged political party, APDA will take Nigeria by storm.
“So, I want to enjoin you all to brace up for the massive onslaught that would be unprecedented in the political annals of this nation as APDA will reenact the magic of old and bring back the good old days to Nigeria and Nigerians. We must take our nation back for the people, and APDA has what it takes to wrest power from these self conceited leaders who have taken us not only on a fool’s ride but on a senseless journey to nowhere.”
In his own address, the interim Chairman of APDA in the State, Chief Banji Akinkuowo called on members of the party to brace up for the task ahead saying that when fully registered, the party would eventually formed the next government in the state. He enjoined members to strive for an aggressive membership drive and to encourage disenchanted members not to give up hope.
