Participation As INEC Ad-hoc Staff Not Compulsory, NYSC DG Tells Corps Members

The director general of the National Youth service corps (NYSC), Major General Kazaure has told Corp members that they are not under any compulsion to participate in the forthcoming election as INEC Ad-hoc staff.

He however advised those interested to see the exercise as a call to national duty

Kazaure stated this in Portharcourt on Friday during a sensitization visit on the expected electoral conducts during the voting exercise.

He however urged corps members to build on the legacies of their predecessors by contributing their quota to the development of the country’s democracy.

The NYSC boss warned that anyone who violates the electoral law will be prosecuted accordingly.

He said :

“In 2011 and 2015, some corps members like you made us proud as good Ambassadors of NYSC.”

“When you are in danger, run to the nearest police station or military post. Don’t collect Food or any form of gratification from politicians and remember to be security conscious.”
