Panic In Delta As Oil Facility Explodes

An oil facility said to be owned by Nigerian Gas Company, NGC caught fire today.

Report states the explosion which occurred in the early morning hit around 4am at Ejere community, Warri south local government area where the company is sited.

The explosion caused panic as residents at first thought it may be the handiwork of the dreaded Boko Haram.

“Most of us ran out of our houses when we heard the explosion at about 4am today, thinking it was Boko Haram that had invaded our community”, one od the resident identified as Madam Ojijala said.

As at press time, military operatives had taken charge of the vicinity.
