Osun2018 Rerun: We’ve Agreed In Principle, Saraki Speaks After Meeting Omisore

Senator Bukola Saraki, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign committee for the Osun state Governorship election has revealed the outcome of the closed door meeting he had with the Social Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Osun state.

In an entourage comprising of Senator Biodun Olujimi and Doyin Okupe, the Senate President’s campaign chairman for Saraki’s 2019 ambition, Saraki visited Omisore at his Ife residence to seek his support for the PDP to come out victorious against All Progressive’s Congress in the Thursday rerun election.

Omisore was the second runner-up in the Saturday poll and the polling units where the election will be re-conducted are apparently the support base for the SDP candidate.

While Omisore cannot win the election even if he gets all the votes in these remaining polling units either, PDP or APC needs him to align with them to soar above their closest opponent.

After the meeting, Saraki revealed that Omisore has agreed to work with PDP because they share similar goals for the people of Osun.

He further stated that the details of the alliance will be made known publicly by tomorrow.

“I thank Sen. Iyiola Omisore for the warm reception he and his people gave me and members of my entourage in Ile-Ife today. We have agreed to work together because our goals are the same. We all want good governance in Osun State. Over the next 24 hours, we will work out the details. Our discussion will definitely be useful for the growth of democracy in our country; the development of Osun State and its people; as well as for future engagements among political players”, Saraki said

“From now on, it will be a win-win situation for the State of the Land of Virtue, Osun, and Nigeria, in general”, he also noted.
