Ondo: ZLP Candidate, Akinyele Bags 2018 Ambassador Award

A former commissioner, Local Government Service Commission, Chairman, during the Olusegun Mimiko led administration and candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for House of Representatives in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election, Hon. Taye Akinyele was yesterday, December 26th, 2018 honoured by a leading social club in Idanre Local Government, The Ambassadors Club at their annual end of the year party and awards.
The award was in recognition of the meritorious and purpose driven work the man Iroko Kekere as popularly called did while in public office and he has continued same after he left government notwithstanding the financial and personal involvement. The Ambassadors Excellence Award is one of the most prestigious award in Idanre and Ondo Central that many children of Idanre work tirelessly to get because of its political neutrality. Also among the awardees are Engr. Benson Ajisegiri of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Distinguished Senator Ayo Akinyelure, fca and Hon. Kayode Akinmade.
According to the President of the club, Engr (Amb) Toba Akinde, it was a tasking task selecting the awardees out of a long list of deserving sons & daughters of Idanre, in his words “our distinguished awardees of today, I sincerely like to say that the club took meticulous steps in picking them from a long list of personalities from Idanre communities. Consequent upon the presentation of the selection made by the Event Planning Committee, with justification for each of them, the club considered and approved their awards happily”.
While accepting the award Hon. Taye Akinyele thanked the Ambassadors for the honour bestowed upon me and he promised never to relent in his commitment to the development of Idanre and her people. In his words to the club “I sincerely appreciate the President, Chairman of the award committee & members of the Ambassadors Club of Idanre for this honour. The award is not for me but for all the children of Idanre kingdom, my supporters and leaders who have created enabling environment for me to give back to my people. I am not here to give financial support to the club but I will give what will last the club for ages, please call me when you want to start your club building project. Thank you and God bless you”.
The award ceremony was attended by notable children of Idanre kingdom under the Chairmanship of Chief (Mrs) Wemimo Olufolaji (Yeye Oge of Idanre Kingdom) and special guest of honour is High Chief (Mrs) Durojaiye Aroloye (The Yeye Lobun of Atosin) and the event was anchored by MC LarryKen.
