Ondo Youths in Abuja Laud Bunmi Tunji-Ojo’s Transformational Reforms in the Interior Ministry
The Ondo Youths in Abuja have applauded the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Bunmi Tunji Ojo, for what they described as an unprecedented turnaround in the Ministry of Interior and its agencies within his first two years in office.
In a statement jointly issued and signed by the group’s coordinator, Ilawole Taiwo Samuel, the youths commended the minister’s dedication, innovation, and strategic reforms, which they said have placed the ministry on a new pedestal of efficiency and public confidence.
According to the statement, one of the landmark achievements under Dr. Tunji-Ojo is the revamping of service delivery systems across key agencies within the ministry, particularly the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The minister’s introduction of digital innovations, automation, and streamlined processes has significantly reduced delays and bottlenecks, especially in passport issuance and migration management. Nigerians at home and abroad now experience faster, more transparent, and accountable services.
The group also applauded the comprehensive reforms in the Nigerian Correctional Service. Under BTO’s leadership, correctional facilities across the country have witnessed modernization efforts from improved infrastructure to capacity building programs for staff. Most importantly, policies to decongest overcrowded facilities and to champion inmates’ rehabilitation and vocational training reflect his people centered governance style.
Highlighting other reforms, the Ondo Youths noted the unprecedented attention given to the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The provision of modern fire fighting equipment, training, and improved welfare for officers, as well as the repositioning of the NSCDC to better respond to internal security and critical infrastructure protection, have all enhanced public trust in these agencies.
Ilawole Taiwo Samuel emphasized that these achievements are not only reshaping the ministry but also restoring citizens’ trust in government institutions. He described the minister as “a shining example of what visionary, youthful leadership can achieve in Nigeria, given the right platform.”
“For us, as Ondo youths, Dr. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has raised the bar of governance. His reforms have touched the core of national security, identity management, and public safety. We are proud of his achievements over just two years and strongly believe that his drive, passion, and patriotism will continue to propel the ministry to higher heights,” the statement read.
The group further urged other leaders across the country to draw lessons from Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s pragmatism, integrity, and capacity to deliver. They affirmed their continuous support for his vision and pledged to champion his brand of transformational leadership as a model for the next generation of Nigerian youth.
