Ondo APC Primaries: Crises Loom As Akeredolu Hoards Party Members’ Register

All is not well with the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives’ Congress(APC) as the Party prepares for the primary elections scheduled to hold on Wednessday 3rd of October, nigeriancablenewsonline.com can confirm.

Authoritatives sources within the party leadership revealed to Nigerian Cable News Online that governor Rotimi Akeredolu has instructed the Adetimehin led state executives not to release the party member’s register to aspirants, except those anointed by the governor, in order to prevent them from reaching out to the prospective voters.

Our source who pleaded anonymity said ward chairmen, who are perceived not to be loyal to the governor’s preferred Aspirants are also denied access to the register.

However, Nigerian Cable News Online has confirmed after investigation, that the party’s members’ register have been shrouded in secrecry in all the 203 wards across the state, and that it is only being released to few favoured aspirants.

This newspaper has confirmed this development in Akoko southwest, Ifedore and many other local governments in the state.

All efforts to hear from the APC state P.R.O over this development proved abortive, as his phone was not reachable.

The Party Assistant P.R.O, Mr. Ayodele Gbenga Oladimeji, who spoke with Nigerian Cable News Online on a telephone interview however denied knowlegde of development, while adding that he is not within the state.

One of the agrieved aspirants, our correspondent learnt has written a petition to the National Chairman of the Party, comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the said development.
