Below is the full text of the statement unedited;
Following the orchestrated attack on the leaders of our party today during a stakeholders’ meeting at the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress by thugs sponsored by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor has murdered sleep.
It is disheartening to see leaders and elders of our party disgracefully brutalized and openly beaten by members of the NURTW who were commissioned by Lucky Aiyedatiwa to carry out the dastardly act. Let nobody tell me to prove that Lucky was behind it, we are politicians and we know the game very well. No Chief security officer of any State would permit such without his involvement.
Mr Governor, you simply went against the oath of office you took to protect and defend the people of Ondo State, by turning around to be the one to attack them. Several videos are on the Internet to attest to this, I saw those of the State Chairman, Engineer Adetimehin and my brother Barrister Sola Ajisafe. Again, I have visited some victims in various hospitals and was heartbroken by their conditions. Mr. Governor, I say again: you have murdered sleep,
Perhaps you don’t know, your hired thugs tore the flags of the party that made you Governor and by extension bringing disgrace to the National leader of our party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. You are indeed a man of ‘history’. You have murdered sleep
On a final note, I will like to say that nobody has the monopoly of violence. While we have chosen to travel the path of peace, I also believe that when a goat is pursued to the wall it turns around to attack the pursuer. Whatever it is, enjoy the perks of your office but I tell you it won’t last forever. Somebody was there before you and someone else will be there after you, but for now you have murdered sleep.
Ire o.
Bode Obanla
