Ondo 2020: ZLP set to Unveil Plans – Akinlaja
The Zenith Labour Party will soon come out with the details of its plans for the forthcoming Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State, the State Chairman, Dr Joseph Akinlaja has said.
Speaking after a meeting of its Executive Members in the State in Akure on Wednesday, Akinlaja said the party is in prime position to successfully pursue its agenda of bringing a development focused government into position in Ondo State and is busy revving up its machinery to so do.
“As much as the Covid19 era has allowed, we have been busy organizing and strategizing and will soon come out with the modalities for our participation in the elections” Akinlaja said.
He added that the leadership of the party in Ondo State as led by Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the immediate past Governor, is brainstorming with leaders across the state on how best to bring to bear the kind of government that will aggregate the core values of the party.
He encouraged citizens to stay safe, keep to all directives on COVID19 so as to prevent further spread of the scourge.
In a related development, the state excos also visited the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Bolaji Salami, where he was enjoined to be free, fair and open to all tendencies, as Ondo prepares for election. The executives were welcomed by the police commissioner, the DC Admin, DCP AKINYEDE JOSEPH and AC Admin, ACP ROSE CHOLLUM
The Chairman of the ZLP enjoined the police to maintain neutrality and commitment to the discharge of its duties in Ondo State. He promises that the ZLP, as a law abiding organization will work with the police and improve on the state of peace in Ondo State.
