ONDO 2020: Why Akeredolu must be Re-elected – APC stalwart, Akinwale
A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Captain Olabode Akinwale has vowed to use all resources at his diaposal to ensure Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu wins the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state.
In an interview with our correspondent, Akinwale, a grassroots politician in Ilepa Ward 2, Ikare-Akoko, said governor Akeredolu has performed creditably well.
He said the dualisation of Ikare township road has changed the face of the town and has made it to be the cynosure of all eyes in Akoko land.
He added that, the leadership style of governor Akeredolu, who according to him is sincere in his approach to governance made him to start using his own resources for the re-election campaign of Mr. Governor and for regular support, morally and financially, of the party in all 13 wards of Akoko North-East local government.
Some of the things he has done as a grassroots mobilizer in support of Governor Akeredolu and APC includes branding of buses and branding of hundreds of caps and shirts for the campaign. Rendering regular support to women leaders and youth leaders for them to be able to perform their duties with ease. Akinwale has also distributed Palliatives to some party members to cushion the effects of Covid 19 pandemic.
When asked if he has decided to rest on his oars, Captain Akinwale said: “I will do more. In fact, I am going to replicate what I have been doing in my local government at the state level, to make sure this party (APC) at the state level is moving forward, to ensure the victory of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.”
Captain Akinwale expressed confidence that if given another chance, Governor Akeredolu will do more for Ondo state people.
Speaking on his recent courtesy visit to the state APC exco, captain Akinwale appreciated the state chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin for hosting him and his team, saying he was happy with the type of reception he got.
During the visit, Engr Ade Adetimehin commended captain Akinwale for what he is doing in his local government and encouraged him to keep it up.
The experienced ship captain has used the advantage of his good working relationship with the party leaders and members of APC to continue his vigorous campaign to ensure Governor Akeredolu is reelected.
