Ondo 2020: We will Ensure Akeredolu’s Victory – Oke support group

…As they pledge loyalty to Chief Olusola Oke

The chief Olusola Oke support group and the unity forum of APC have pledged their loyalty and full support to All Progressive Congress (APC) party, to ensure the candidate of the party Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu wins the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.

This was the outcome of the meeting of the group held throughout the eighteen (18) local governments of Ondo State. The members of the group in their thousands pledged their unwavering loyalty and support to their principal chief Olusola Oke even after the primary election which they believed was designed against the will of the majority of the APC card carrying members.

During the meeting, the group members reaffirmed their determination to continue to sustain the structure of Chief Olusola Oke.

Speaking at the meeting, an APC chieftain, chief Mrs Tinuade Komolafe said that although the members of Olusola Oke support group and unity forum in APC are not happy with the outcome of the primary election, they have decided to stay in APC and support the decision of their principal chief Olusola Oke in supporting Governor Akeredolu to win the election. She said “ we the supporters of chief Olusola Oke and the unity forum that picked him in one accord, we agree that since we are a formidable group , we will not be put in disarray because of the poor outcome of the primary election which we believe was planned to favour the incumbent governor. We want to stay together in APC, we want to encourage our people. We don’t want to leave. We want to remain in APC. We want to work together to ensure APC wins Ondo state.”

Mrs Tinuade Komolafe added that others in APC are their brothers and sisters and that they should work together. She urged the governor to ensure unity in the party so as to achieve success in the coming election.

Another prominent member of the group, Otunba Dele Ologbese, said the members and leaders of Olusola Oke support group and unity forum have made a resolution to make sure APC wins the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state. He said the group is expecting the governor to take serious steps to harmonise the different groups in Ondo state APC. He made it clear that they are ready for peace and success of APC at the election. He said “all members of Olusola Oke campaign team are resolute in remaining in APC and they would ensure that APC does not slant into opposition. We want to work toward the victory of the party at the October 10, 2020 governorship election. Olusola Oke campaign organization has a very big structure. By the time it combines efforts with Aketi team, it is going to be a formidable team.”

At the one of the meetings, a former member of House of Representatives, hon. Ganny Dauda told the supporters of chief Olusola Oke and unity forum in APC to support Olusola Oke in supporting the party and governor Akeredolu to win the election. He reminded them of the prominence of chief Olusola Oke which made the unity forum to pick him as their aspirant. He assured them that since their members are very many in APC, they are formidable, will be recognized and will be rewarded if they work together in supporting the party.

Hon. Cyril Egunlayi who is also a leader in APC advised the members of Olusola Oke support group and unity forum to remain united in APC and work for the victory of governor Akeredolu so as to benefit from the party. He reminded them that it is only when they work together that they can get their rights in the party.

He urged them to be patient. He assured them that chief Olusola Oke will work with the national leadership of the party and governor Akeredolu to make sure his supporters do not lose in the party. Hon. Egunlayi appealed to their members not to go and negotiate individualy, but to work together as a team for them to achieve what they want.

In a message to his teaming supporters, chief Olusola Oke urged them to rally support for Governor Akeredolu so that APC can win the governorship election. He told them that they are one family in APC. Chief Oke encouraged his supporters and members of the unity forum not to allow the outcome of the primary election to separate them. They should not view other APC members as enemies.
