Ondo 2020: Ondo Youth Appreciated for Peaceful Comportment During Governorship Poll
The leadership of Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress (OEYC) has applauded the youths of Ondo kingdom for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the just concluded October 10 Governorship election in Ondo state
OEYC, in a statement by its Coordinator, Olusola Akinbinu, “Commend the youths for yielding to the call of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Victor Kiladejo, Jilo III” who had earlier called on the youth and politicians to stay away from acts that can incite violence during and after the election.
The group, which is the umbrella body of all the youth groups in Ondo East and West Local Government Areas, implored young people on the need to keep up with this remarkable pace. “The peaceful gesture demonstrated should not be limited to the election. We should not get weary of cooperating with the security agencies and all other institutions in the kingdom, so that together we can build a more desirable community”.
“We thank God that we did not loose any of our youth to the election. There is even no reported case of blood shed in Ondo East and West Local government. The conducts at the respetive Polling Units were generally adjudged to be peaceful. Our youths indeed yeilded to the call of the Osemawe, not to take on desperate assignments for politicians. This is commendable and should not be overlooked.” The group said.
