Ondo 2020: Jegede Picks running mate, Monday

Barring any last minute change, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, Eyitayo Jegede will tomorrow (Monday) name his running mate, Nigerian Cable news online has gathered.

Some politicians are being tipped to be Jegede’s running mate.

Among them is one of the governorship aspirants, Banji Okunomo.

Others that may likely be picked are: Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi; Gboluga Ikengboju Dele; Hon. Benson Amuwa and Mrs. Banke Solton .

All the politicians tipped for the deputy governorship position are. from Ondo South senatorial district.

While Jegede is from Ondo Central senatorial district, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is from Ondo North Senatorial district.

Ondo South was tipped to produce the running mate because it is considered as the stronghold of the PDP.

Jegede has been under intense pressure to pick Deputy Governor as his running mate.
