Ondo 2020: I’m Prepared to Oust Akeredolu, PDP Guber Aspirant, Tony Erewa says
A popular contender in the 2020 governorship election in Ondo state, Prince Tony Godday Erewa has expressed his readiness to win the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and defeat governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Erewa, an Industrialist and phillantropist also urged the leaders of the PDP in Ondo state to stay united ahead of the governorship election in the state.
He stated this after a meeting with the leadership of the party during a visit to the PDP state secretariat in Akure on Monday.
According to him, the party members must be steadfast and resilient ahead of the election.
In his words:
“Our party members must remain steadfast and not lose courage. At this point in time, we need to be in one mind for us to win the election ahead. We have all it takes to win the election.”
Asked about his level of preparedness for the Party primary, Erewa said he has traversed the three senatorial districts of the state to visit major leaders and respected stakeholders of the Party, he added that he has garnered the needed experience to outshine his fellow contenders in the party and govern the state. He also vowed to organize door-to-door campaigns across the state, if given the opportunity to run on the PDP ticket.
Speaking to Nigerian Cable News online on his plans for the state, Erewa promised to transform the state by providing good roads, infrastructure, employment for the youths, special welfare packages for the aged, facilities for market women and timely payment of salaries to civil servants, if he is given the opportunity to govern the state.
The Ilaje born industrialist also donated cash and food gifts to the party members present, saying it is the best thing to do to sustain the party.
He Said:
“This is a festive period, it’s a period of joy; a period we exchange gifts. At this period, the party is not in power. It is our responsibility as aspirants to show love to our party members from the state to the ward level, and I believe by next year, by his grace, when we get to government house, we will continue bringing this.”
Reacting to the gesture, the Party chairman, Mr. Clement Faboyede appreciated the aspirant for the visit, he also commended him for the gift items which according to him worth multiples of millions.
Other Party leaders and members also took turns to shower encomium on Erewa, while praying for God to grant his heart desires.
