Ondo 2020: Akoko APC Stakeholders Endorse Adelami
… As he vows to perform better than Akeredolu
APC stakeholders in Akoko community have endorsed Chief Olayide Adelami who is one of the foremost governoship aspirants to be the candidate of APC in the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election.

The APC stakeholders made this decision after a meeting with chief Adelami at Ikare-Akoko.
They believe that Adelami is a man of integrity based on his track record at the national assembly where he retired as a deputy clerk.
The APC stakeholders also hinge their decision on the fact that for the past eighteen (18) years, chief Adelami has been consistently assisting and empowering many widows.
Omoniyi Alex who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders said
“chief Adelami is humble, generous and is experienced in administration. He has a clean record. Chief Adelami is straightforward and accommodating. So we have decided to support him.”
While speaking at the event, the elated aspirant expressed gratitude for the support given to him.
Chief Adelami said governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has tarnished the image of Owo by failing the people of Ondo state, hence the need for him to come on board to redeem the image and provide good governance for the people of Ondo state.
While basking in the euphoria that he left a good name as his legacy in the national assembly, said he will make sure he uses his experience and connections to develop Ondo state.
Chief Adelami, who is an accountant per excellence, said he will run an open system governance where transparency will be his watchword.
He said
“as an individual, I have been helping people and providing infrastructures . In Owo, I have empowered a lot of widows, dug boreholes, provided transformers, and street lights. I will replicate this and do more in the whole of Ondo state if I become the governor.”
Chief Adelami added that his government will be people driven. He promised to carry all the unions along in his government so that it will be a joint government.
The account turned politician added that as the closest government to the people, he will give local government financial autonomy so that communities can be developed.
“As the federal government shares allocation monthly to states and local governments, I will ensure the local governments funds get to them. Some people thought this will be difficult, but I will cross the bridge when I get there. I know that if all the eighteen (18) local governments are developing, then poverty will reduce.”
He said the youths are the future of Ondo state. “The youths of Ondo state are full of energy, resources, innovation and ideas. I will not allow these resources to die with them. If I become governor, I will go round the state to have town hall meetings with the youths, brainstorm with them and empower them so as to lift them out of poverty. We will empower them in I.C.T, commerce, technical training and agriculture so that they can be sell sufficient.”
