NANS Applauds Aiyedatiwa Over Interventions in Ondo Poly, Varsity
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has applauded the governor of Ondo state, Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa over his financial interventions in the state tertiary institutions, since the Inception of his two months old administration.
The students association, in a statement released by Comrade Henry Okunomo, it’s
National Senate Clerk on Friday, also urged the governor to make students welfare his top priority in the state, through the provision of scholarships and bursaries, and mobility for student structures in the state, among other demands.
Okunomo also pledged the support of the association for the governor’s reelection bid.
Below is the full text of the statement, as obtained by Nigerian Cable new online Unedited;
On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), we would like to applaud Governor Aiyedatiwa on his recent intervention in education, specifically the payment of salary backlogs at RUGIPO, the release of funds for the Senate building at Ondo State University of Medical Science Ondo Cirty, and the approval of 1.2 billion naira in projects for Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. Through the above it shows that the people Governor is really passionate about taking the educational sector of Ondo to the promise land.
We also encourage the governor to make student welfare a top priority, such as;
– Providing mobility for student structures in the state.
– Providing financial assistance, such as scholarships and bursaries, to students who demonstrate academic excellence.
– Creating opportunities for students to get involved in extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, and community service, which can improve overall wellbeing.
– Offering mental health services to students, such as counseling and therapy, to address any challenges they may face.
– Opening of Adekunle Ajasin University, Àkùngbá Akoko main gate for easy access to Students living in that environment.
We believe that improving student welfare will have a positive impact on the overall well-being of students and the success of their educational endeavours.
We stand ready to support Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and to help ensure his re-election at the polls. We know that with the governor’s leadership and vision, the state will continue to thrive and progress.
We are grateful for the governor’s commitment to education and his dedication to making the state a better place for all.
Furthermore, we would like to reiterate our commitment to the welfare of all Nigerian students, and to ensuring that they are able to access quality education. We urge the management of all Higher Institutions in the state to be committed to there duties and shun all forms of shenanigans that will that will jeopardise the Governor Aiyedatiwa good works in the educational sector. We are open to collaboration, and believe that together, we can create a better future for all Nigerian students.
