Mimiko Bags NATA Life Patron Award

The Ondo state chapter of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) on Tuesday conferred a Life Patron award on the immediate past governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.


The announcement and award presentation was done in Akure, the Ondo state capital at the inauguration and investiture of a new leadership for the Association.

According to the chairman of NATA in Ondo state, comrade Sobande Babatunde, the Association considered it important to honour the former governor because of his trail blazing records in the support and development NATA.

He said:

“Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is the first governor to build a modern mechanic village for the benefit of our members, he gave us a secretariat and and a bus.”

“He facilitated credit facilities for the benefit of our members across the state. These gestures are quite unprecedented in the history of our existence.”

Speaking at the event, Mimiko, who was represented by his former Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Eni Akinsola, appreciated the privilege of recognition by the association, while encouraging the association to take advantage of their membership strength and wide spread to demand for their collective rights and entitlements from governments at all levels at all times.

He praised them for the consideration of merits, capacity and competence over ethnicity in their choice of leaders.

Other dignitaries also present at the event include representatives of the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), the Ondo state Police command, the Federal Road Safety Commission among others.
