According Paschal Okeawolam, a US citizen, whose money was stolen, he Lodged in the hotel on Friday for a brother’s wedding, his room was opened while he was away for the ceremony, and all his money was taken away.

He said the receptionist of the hotel confirmed to the Police that she gave the room key card to a cleaner to clean up the room when the guest left, but could not ascertain the whereabout of the cleaner thereafter.

He further alleged that the Policemen at the Divisional Police Station, Ozuoba, where the case was reported, could not make any arrest so far over the incident.

“The stolen money incident happened at CJ& J suites NTA road Portharcourt I came in to logde in one of the rooms on Friday 13th January, 2023 so that I can attend my younger brother’s wedding ceremony on Saturday 14th of January”

” The receptionist said she sent someone to clean the room but when the room was called from the reception, nobody picked up prompting the use of the master key card”

” Upon entry into the room, the key card was seen in it’s slot in the room and the room was not cleaned as was earlier claimed”

” It baffles me that the cash I left guest left in the room amounting to N18000 which I wanted to use at the wedding venue was noticed to be missing which now prompted me to check the money I kept in the bag totalling $1000 dollars approximately 736,000 naira which was also found to be missing.” Okeawolam explained.

“However the fact that there was a theft in Ozuoba Police Station was said to have made entry about the case but no single arrest has been made after some facts have been established by the receptionist.”

“The Police at the front desk with the body language of the leadership of the station indicated that, hands have exchanged hands over an issue that should be taken seriously.”

“No single arrest has been made after an attack has been confirmed and established by the hotel and entry has been made at Ozuoba police station, Portharcourt” the guest lamented.

He however called on the Commissioner of Police, River state and the Inspector General Of Police to intervene in the case so as not to dent the image of the Police and that of the nation at large , most especially, as all hands are being put on deck to flush out criminal elements in Nigeria by the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
