Libya Slave Trade: Buhari Blows Hot

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has outrightly condemned the slave trade Nigerians are subjected to in Libya.

President Muhammadu Buhari described the act as “appalling and unacceptable” at the interactive session with members of the Nigerian Community in Cote d’ Ivoire on Tuesday night.

The President assured that his government will ensure that citizens in diaspora will be absolutely protected.

As tweeted on Buhari’s official handle, it reads:

“The situation in Libya, of people being sold into slavery, is appalling and unacceptable. We will do everything to protect our citizens wherever they might be.”
