KAFTAN TV Launches New Yoruba Channel on StarTimes

As part of its ongoing investment to propel its television stations to market-leading positions, Nigeria’s independent broadcasting company, KAFTAN TV Ventures Plc., owner of KAFTAN TV, has announced the launch of its Yoruba channel.

Starting from 1 September, 2020, the channel will go live on StarTimes to viewers in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Kwara states.

Already, KAFTAN News channel is available on Channel 480 on StarTimes Dish platform and on Channel 124 on the Antenna for all StarTimes bouquets. It is also streaming its content live on www.kaftan.tv It also has a YouTube Channel with rich content at www.youtube.com/kaftantv

According to the company’s Ondo Head of Station, Stephen Adewale, “KAFTAN TV has done well during the pilot phase of the broadcast of News content.

“Since we launched the English News Channel in August 2019, we have been able to reach a wider audience across more than 20 African countries where StarTimes broadcasts, reaching an audience of over 6 million homes with news in business, politics, sports, entertainment and global trends. It is now high time we put our local audience into consideration”.

He stated that KAFTANTV Yoruba is conceived to become the number one on-air and online source of Yoruba news, culture, tradition, sports and drama in the world. Mr. Adewale added that KAFTANTV Yoruba will be a station for the millennials and the young at heart hungry to know more about the rich culture and traditions of the Yoruba race.
