Kachikwu Opens Up On When Fuel Scarcity Will Be Over

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, on Thursday gave a possible deadline to the national executive council on the fuel scarcity experienced across various states of the country.

Kachikwu assured at the NEC meeting that fuel supply will be restored in the next 48 hours.

Speaking after the NEC meeting presided by the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki revealed what the minister had said.

“We discussed the issue of fuel supply. As you know, there has been challenges of fuel supply in the country”, Obaseki said.

“The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources assured council that within the next 48hours, fuel supply will be restored nationwide because there is enough fuel in our strategic reserves.

“He said the ministry has released fuel from these reserves and it expects distribution will reach all parts of the country within the next 48 hours.”
