JUST IN: Rep. Terminates Jibrin’s Suspension After One Year
The lower chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly has lifted ban on the suspended lawmaker, Honorable Abdulmumin Jibrin after an equivalent time of one year.
Following a letter signed by the House of Representatives member from Kano, allegedly apologising to the House, ‘unfolding’ budget padding scandal in the legislature, the Green Chamber has now asked him to return from his suspension of 180 legislative days which was since 2017.
Although the letter wasn’t fully read before the parliament, the speaker paraphrased it by saying he has apologised and met all the conditions given to him.
“He has fulfilled all the conditions
by writing this letter and so he is
free to resume his legislative duties whenever he wants, if he so wishes”.
