JUST IN: Justice Akeredolu Becomes Ondo Chief Judge

The National Judicial Council NJC has approved the appointment of Justice Oluwatoyin Akeredolu as the chief judge of Ondo state.

She was among the Sixty (60) successful Judicial Officers recommended by the National Judicial Council at its 85th Meeting to their various State Governors.

A statement by NJC’s Director of Information, Soji Oye confirmed all the appointments.

It would be recalled Governor Akeredolu appointed Justice Oluwatoyin Akeredolu as the Acting Chief Judge of Ondo state on the 22nd July 2017 following the expiration of Justice Tayo Osoba’s six month’s tenure as Acting Chief Judge.

In a letter to Justice Akeredolu, the Governor said her appointment followed the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and in line with with Section 271 Subsection 5 of the 1999 constitution as amended.
