JUST IN: Mimiko To Speak At World Poetry Day Event, Abuja
Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko will be speaking, today, as a resource person at “The Conversation” in Abuja, in commemoration of the 2018 UNESCO’s World Poetry Day.
“The Conversation” is organized by The Arts & Civics Table (TACT), in partnership with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
The event, with the theme “We Are All Casualties”, from John Pepper Clark’s poem ‘The Casualties’, will be a conversation anchored around Nigerian poetry, and it is scheduled to hold at the Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Wuse, Abuja, by 6pm.
According to the organisers, “The Conversation” will take place under the “Chatham House” rules, which will allow for frank and open discussions.
“TACT is dedicated to the promotion of civic engagement between citizens and government, and facilitating alternative means of engaging with society without rancor and bitterness. UNESCO’s World Poetry Day is one of the platforms we use to achieve this,” the organisers said.
