Report says the over 300 abducted students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina, have been freed.

A top official of the Katsina state government who confirmed the news to newsmem on Thursday night, said the students are currently on their way to the government house from the hideout of their abductors.

The whereabouts of over 300 students have been unknown since Friday night when gunmen attacked the school.

Boko Haram later claimed responsibility for the incident but Aminu Masari, the governor, said bandits were behind the attack.

The government official, who craved anonymity, said a total 340 students were being expected.
