Ibadan Monarch, Olubadan Joins Ancestors
Reports reaching Nigerian Cable News online says the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has joined his ancestors.
He died at 93.
This development is exactly twenty-two days after the death of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi.
According to a source, the Olubadan joined his ancestors early on Sunday morning, January 2, 2022 at the age of 93 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
When we contacted both UCH and the Popoyemoja, Ibadan Palace of the monarch, we were asked to wait for confirmation.
Said Toye Akinrinlola “we are still not aware but I am already working on it. I will get back to you as soon as possible.”
Our contact at the Palace said “I am not aware. The palace is calm. I cannot confirm to you.”
However, his death was confirmed by palace sources who pleaded anonymity.
