16 travelers kidnapped in Ondo
At least sixteen persons travelling from Akure to Akoko in Ondo state have become victims of abduction by unknown gunmen on the Akure-Owo Road.
Nigeriancablenewsonline.com gathered that the victims, heading for a monthly traders’ meeting at isua, the head quarters of Akoko southeast local government were kidnapped on along the Ogbese-Uso axis of the Akure-Owo road on Friday.
While Confirming the incident, the Public Relations officer of the Ondo state Police command, Mr. Tee-leo Ikoro told Nigerian Cable news online that ten of the victims have been rescued, while four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
The Police PRO also said investigations are ongoing, in order to set the remaining victims free and bring the abductors to book.
