Honour Your Agreement With ASUU; Ondo Reps Member, Akinjo Tells F.G

A federal lawmaker from Ondo state, Kolade Akinjo has appealed to the Federal government to honour previously signed agreement with University lecturers to end the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike in the country.

Hon Akinjo a member of the House of Representative Committee on Education in a chat with Orange FM said it is unfortunate students are back home with uncertainty of when they would be resuming.

The lawmaker who represents Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency said the only way to make educational institutions in the country is for government to properly fund the sector and set parameters of performance for players.

“Government is a continum and its is a sacred duty of the present government to honour agreement its predecessors signed with ASUU. we cannot run education like this in Nigeria and expect to have results” Akinjo said.

He however expressed optimism that the ongoing negotiations will yield fruitful results so the students can return to classes to prevent them from being involved in unproductive ventures.
