How Gunmen Killed Baptist Pastor At Okitipupa

Gunmen have killed Pastor Deji Joshua, a priest with the Goodnews Baptist Church, Igbeegunrin in Ilaje local government area of Ondo state.

The Ondo state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Revd. John Ayo Oladapo narrated the incidence in Okitipupa.

Revd. Oladapo who also doubles as the chairman of the State’s Baptist conference said Pastor Joshua was on his way to Igbegunrin, his residence, from Okitipupa at about 11;30 pm when he was attacked by the robbers who wanted to steal the motorycle he was riding.

He said:
“I think Pastor Joshua tried to resist the robbers while they tried to steal his motorcycle during which they shot him, left him dead and still went away with his bike”.

He was a dutiful man and survived by a wife and three kids. Revd. Oladapo said.

Revd. Oladapo appealed to the security agencies in the state to fish out the killers of Pastor Joshua.

The deceased was the pastor in charge of the Goodnews Baptist Church, Igbegunrin in Ilaje/Apoi Baptist Association of Ondo State Baptist Conference.

The Ondo State Police P.R.O, Femi Joseph. While confirming the incident said the command had commenced investigation.

He added that detectives would conduct an autopsy to know the actual cause of his death.
