Gunmen kidnap Army Captain in Ondo, Demand N20M Ransom

A senior Military officer has been abducted by unknown gunmen in an Akoko community of Ondo state.

The officer who is a Captain in rank, was kidnapped around Auga-Akoko axis while travelling alone.

It was gathered that the captain was taken to a forest at the boundary of Ondo-Edo states around Ibilo.

The abductors were said to have demanded twenty million naira as ransom.

The Alauga of Auga Akoko, Oba Samuel Agunloye, while Reacting to the development said he was not aware of the abduction, but confirmed that federal roads around his domain were unsave and proned to kidnapping.

A Police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the development, adding that a combine team of police and army have started combing the forest around Auga-Ibilo-Akunu and Ikakumo axis to rescue the army officer.

The Spokesman of the Nigerian Army 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Captain Ayorinde Omojokun, also confirming the incident said security agencies had been deployed to rescue the officer.
